Intimate Engagement at Elephant Rocks

Sometimes we can tell we have something special in front of our camera even before we get home and upload all the pictures to our computer. Sometimes all the stars line up and you get a shoot you can’t wait to share with everyone. We definitely had one of those moments with Brianna & Riley. Oh and, of course, their dog Finley!

We started their shoot getting to know them a little better as we made the small hike up the trail to the massive boulders that sit at the top of the park. Brianna is from Colorado while Riley is from here in Missouri, but long distance didn’t stop this romance from blossoming. “We’ve been doing long distance for the past two years and we finally get our happy ending! There was something about his happy dances and dad jokes that captured my heart.” - (Brianna) I don’t think we got to hear any dad jokes, but we sure saw the happy dances and that happy ending is all over their faces. Once we made the journey up the hill we made our way over to the old engine house for some fun shots with Finley who was more than happy to participate. After that we headed to the quarry and talked them into doing some yoga poses (Oh we forgot to mention, Brianna is a Yoga Instructor) where Riley had a little difficulty getting some of the poses down. I’m sure he enjoyed that private lesson though (wink wink.) Feeling invigorated from the small work out, it was time to see some rocks. The narrow path between the boulders made us feel like we were the only people in the park and the light coming through the spaces between them was absolute magic. When we finally made it to the top, the sun was just about to go down. It was a golden hour to die for. With just a few minutes left of light, they danced under what soon turned into a pink and blue sky. It was the best possible ending to one of our favorite sessions ever!

One thing we love is getting to see our couples truly love in the moment while we capture it for them. Brianna & Riley definitely did just that. From acting completely goofy with each other next to the water to their warm embraces with the moon looking down on them, they completely blew us away with their beautiful love for one another.
